CHILD LABOUR
Introduction:
Child labour includes prematurely leading
adult’s lives working long hours and earns very low wages. Children approximately
at the age of4 to 14 works in the factories in a very brutal and squalid
conditions most of these works in the industrial areas like textile, carpets,
cotton, clothing and footwear are the most common places where these children’s
are forced to work for long hours.Childrenfewer than fifteen are made to do
work that are physically or mentally harmful and which interrupts their
educational or social development.
In
These children most of the boys are working the machines that made products and
the girls work as maids as well as cleaners for rich peoples. Many small kids
work on the road signals, bus stops to sale flowers, newspapers and some
eatables. Although some of children earn even through sex, for the pleasure of
rich adults. In most of the developing countries like Pakistan, India,
Bangladesh, Burma and most of the African countries,
South
American and east European and other developing countries 50 million children
are engaged in manual work to earn for themselves and their families. There are
1800 children between 4 to 14 years of ages employed in 200 tanneries of Qasur
for instance up to 10 hours a day. Some 7500 people working without safety
measures in the building, surgical instrumental industries including a large
number of 8 to 14 years old Rs/- 500 per month. In Gujrat up to 5000 children
were employed in fan, pottery and furniture workshops. Child hood is entitled
to special care and assistance unconventional on the rights of the child.
Causes:
1.
The children in the developing
countries belong to a poor families cannot study because their parents cannot
afford their school and study expenditures.
2.
Their families / parents lives
hand to mouth due to unemployment.
3.
The above mansion countries
peoples become more and more poor. In under developing countries richer becomes
richer while poorer becomes poorer, this is the main cause of poverty.
4.
Another cause of the poverty is
the increased illiteracy rate; people are mostly unaware to get education and
to educate their children.
5.
Most of the poor people don’t
know the values of education. They are not conscious about the children’s
future. They already set their minds that if their children work to earn money
they can support their families. They are not attentive about the hardness and
development of future and it is just because of that people are not educated.
6.
There is another cause for child
labour and that is the unbalanced increase in population.
7.
Due to the increase in population
facilities become rarer i.e. our government does not have many resources to
accomplish their needs like education, water, eatables, and other basic
facilities and it is because of the over burden of population.
Effects:
1.
The uneducated peoples would not
be able to work better for the development of their countries. Less educated
peoples are not enough to face the future challenges which lead towards doubtful
future.
2.
If there is less increase in our
literacy rate it means we are going to produce less medical, engineering,
navel, educational, agricultural, economical and commercial, trade and
technical facilities. This results insecure future and weak defenders due to
which we will be unable to face the future challenges.
3.
Child labour had a great bad
effect on our citizenship / societies due to work burden children are unable to
get proper attention. Parents are hardly to support their kids that results
uncivilized society.
4.
Superstitions are also become the
part of these poor societies, build more and more families quickly and are made
up of those people who are working there since their childhood. So they are not
well civilized peoples and superstition increases there.
5.
Child labour also becomes the
main source to increase crime rate because if a child works for the whole day
in a factory, workshop, petrol pumps and hotels to earn moneyand he will unable
to get time for his moral character so these children becomes the victims of
crime. He faces many challenges. He is hated by everyone, he works till late
night and earn less wages even he has a large family to support. So he easily
attracted towards crime. Our city Karachi is one of the biggest examples of
child labour due to which street crimes increases day by day i.e. Mobile Snatching,
Target killing and other crimes. There are some people who train young boys
towards crime.
6.
Bagging is one of the biggest problems
introduced by illiterate peoples to earn money in an easy way so they let their
children for bagging.
7.
Child labour effects leadership,
because of child labour there are less moral values. The child who becomes a part
of society thinks that his people or country have done nothing for him so why
do he does. Child labour affects the leadership qualities so this is the reason
we have less honest leaders.
8.
All the time he kept his self in
the direction of work, he suffers hardships of life and he always meditates how
to earn money for living hood. In spite of all this he left illiterate, uncivilized
and unaware of modern world and technology.
Prevention:
1.
The advanced countries through
their agencies and leaders continue to develop contacts to businesspersons and landlord
who does not care about the poor people’s worked in their firms.
These agencies and leader should
work to arose ambition to educate their workers especially children under the
age of 10 to 18 and to work for their welfare.
2.
Government s should make common
and free education from 1 to 10 for everyone that literacy rate increases.
3.
They should make an act / rule that
parents must educate their kids.
4.
Seminars should be organized to
motivate the people towards education.
5.
Rules and Acts should be followed
strictly.
6.
The uneducated city people should
be provided suitable job opportunities and facilitates of education and
internships.
7.
With assurance of incomes sources
for there secure future must be provided.
8.
Feudal system should be brought
to an end completely.
